ACW 103rd Annual Conference in Gitlaxt'aamiks

The Anglican Church Women (ACW) of Gitlaxt'aamiks hosted the 103rd Annual Conference that consisted of 3 days of activities this past weekend from April 25-26.  On Saturday, April 25 the Gitlaxt'aamiks Village Government hosted a 'Welcome Banquet' in honor of the ACW conference participants and due to this being a women's conference the YMCA of the community were the cooks, set tables, served tables and cleaned off tables.  The men of Gitlaxt'aamiks pulled it off in very good spirit.

ACW groups came from Vanderhoof, Dawson Creek, Smithers, Massett, Terrace, Gingolx, Laxgalts'ap and Gitlaxt'aamiks to participate in the conference.  The ACW groups were marched from the Holy Trinity Church to the Gitlaxt'aamiks Recreation Centre by the Majagaleehl Nisga'a Concert Band. The banquet agenda included a welcome address from Chief Councillor Gerald Robinson, individual ACW group presentations, dinner, gifting presentations to the guests, a fun-filled skit, gospel musical fest, closing by the Deputy Chief Councillor Keith Clayton, the master of ceremonies was carried out by Darlene Morgan and Kate Mercer and the event was opened and closed in prayer by Rev. Canon Gary Davis Sr.

Way to go Gitlaxt'aamiks ACW, Gitlaxt'aamiks Village Government and YMCA for such a successful event!
