The Back to School March 2016 hosted by the Gitlaxt'aamiks Village Government was a success!

The event started off with a breakfast at the Gitmidiik Auditorium to welcome NESS Staff, Students and Parents.  Then all participants gathered at the parking lot of the Interpretive Centre (Old Community Hall).  The march was then started and lead by the Simgigat, Sigidimhaanak' and the Nass Valley Lisims RCMP Members.  The route went up Skateen Ave, onto NESS grounds, into the side exit of the school where the Simgigat, Students and Parents were welcomed by Teachers and Staff signing 'Ts'inin Sim'oogit' and lead down the main hallway directly into the gymnasium.  All participants gathered into the gymnasium for a Welcome Assembly with guest speakers that included the Chairperson Council of Elders Sigidimhaanak' Angaye'e, Simgigat, Principal and Vice-Principal of NESS. 

What a positive way to start the new school year. Si'aamhl Wilin NESS and Gitlaxt'aamiks Village Government!
