Martin Luther King Day

Every year on the third Monday in January, the United States celebrates the life and achievements of Martin Luther King, Jr. with a Federal Holiday in his name, "Martin Luther King Day".

Today, on this third Monday in January (19th) the Nisga'a Nation joins Americans and people around the world to honour and acknowledge the late Martin Luther King's significant contributions as a civil rights activist, namely for his leadership in the fight to end racial segregation in the United States up to his tragic assassination in 1968.
