NAIG Series: Branden E. Azak - Under 14 Boys Basketball

Branden E. Azak is in the Laxgibuu (Wolf) tribe from Wilps Ksdyawaak.  His nisga'a name is Hlgu Sii Daw.  Branden is from the Nisga'a Village of Gitwinksihlkw where he resides with his parents Kenny and Stephanie Azak and sister McKenna.

We thank Branden's mother Stephanie for submitting his photo and information.  Please see Branden's journey to get this far:

We are happy to confirm that Branden E. Azak has successfully earned a spot on Team BC.  He will travel with the team to Regina 2014 North American Indigenous Games (NAIG) in Regina, Saskachewan from July 20-27, 2014.

Excited and proud after an extensive province wide selection process Branden was chosen to represent British Columbia.  He will also be representing his home town the Nisga'a Village of Gitwinksihlkw and the entire Nisga'a Nation.

Branden's passion for Basketball began before he could walk, he was shooting hoops on a little tikes basketball hoop at the age of one.  He then started to attend many different basketball camps and tournaments throughout BC.  Spending much time under the Basketball hoop he started to get noticed at a very young age and started receiving player of the game awards.

Branden has a fairly large and strong support system with tons of fans that are always on the lookout for him.  We had a dial-a-meal fundraiser and had a record breaking 117 orders where we raised $1,400.00.

We would like to say a big Thank You to:

  • His fans for great support throughout
  • His Grandparents, Parents along with family and friends
  • Nisga'a Village of Gitwinksihlkw
  • Gitwinksihlkw Athletic Club and Elders
  • Nisga'a Lisims Government

We are thankful and greatful to have each of you in our lives.

Congratulations!

Branden for all your hard work and team efforts!

We are so very proud of you.  Play hard and have fun.

Thank you,

Branden's #1 supporter: his Mom
