Nisg̱a’a Designers to shine on runway at inaugural fashion show hosted by Hli Goothl Wilp-Adokshl Nisga’a (Nisga’a Museum)

Lax̱g̱alts’ap, BC (November 17, 2022) – Hli Goothl Wilp-Adokshl Nisga’a | Nisga’a Museum, working with Nisga’a designers from the Nass Valley and beyond are pleased to announce the first annual Fashion Show to be held at Gitlax̱t’aamiks Recreation Centre in Gitlax̱t’aamiks (New Aiyansh) on Saturday, November 26.

 

Join us for an incredible display of cultural couture from designers Jaimie Davis, Kari Morgan, Vanessa Morgan, Terrion St. Louis and Diane E. Stewart, Lillian and Alver Tait, and Trinitee Willie. Designers will be highlighting this year’s theme, From Darkness to Light through their creations of contemporary and traditional apparel, regalia and accessories. The inaugural event is inspired by the supernatural demigod Txeemsim bringing light to the world for Nisga’a people, a theme that also connects exhibits at the Nisga’a Museum where knowledge of Nisga’a history and culture is brought forth.

 

Doors will open at 6:00pm with light refreshments before and after the 7:00pm runway show. Music by DJ Bust-a-Move. Tickets are on sale now at the Nisga’a Museum gift store and can be purchased over the phone or at the museum. Tickets bought by phone will be available at will-call the night of the event, if requested. The museum store is open for ticket sales Monday through Saturday from 10:00am to 4:00pm.
