May 11 is Nisga'a Day, the anniversary of the Nisga'a Treaty and a day to commemorate and celebrate that accomplishment. This year, there are two events recognizing Nisga'a Day:

• Thursday, May 9, the B.C. government is hosting a short ceremony at the Legislature in Victoria to recognize the 19th anniversary of the treaty from 12:45 - 1:30pm. Members of the Nisga'a Lisims Government will be in attendance, President Clayton will offer remarks, and the Kwhlii Gibaygum Nisga'a Dancers will perform. 
• Saturday, May 11, during the Emergency Preparedness Conference at the Gitlaxt'aamiks Rec Centre, there will be a short ceremony and refreshments to recognize Nisga'a Day between 12 - 1pm.
