Nisga'a Fisheries - Youth Art Contest Winners!!

March 20, 2015

The Nisga’a Fish and Wildlife Department is happy to announce the winners of our 2014-15 Art Contest! Our judges were faced with tough decisions, in choosing winners from the many creative and beautiful entries received. All submissions were judged on their originality, connection with the theme, and artistic merit. All the entries were great, but in the end we had to choose some winners.

The following artists will be awarded prizes for their fine work:

In the Kindergarten to Grade 4 Category:

1st Place - Lennox Mercer

2nd Place – Cadence Robinson

3rd Place – Liam Stevens

4th Place – Logan Percival

In the Grade 5 to Grade 9 Category:

1st Place – Journey Barker

2nd Place – Xavier Percival

3rd Place – James Griffin

4th Place – Kenyon Tait

In the Grade 10 to Grade 12 Category:

1st - Faith Robinson

Prizes will be awarded at the upcoming Fish and Wildlife Consultation meetings in April. We would like to thank all the participants for their efforts and remind them to be on the lookout for our next contest. In the meantime, we’ll be “fishing” around for new ideas. We’d like to hear yours!
