Nisga'a Museum - Open for the Season!

The Nisga'a Museum is open for the season beginning Friday, May 17!

This year the museum is showcasing a 2 year temporary exhibition entitled “Healing Ways” which will walk patrons through from spirituality and a few medicinal plant practices of the Nisga’a Halayt, walking through the darkness to light patrons will experience cultural uses from the past to present.

The annual hours for the Nisga’a Museum are as follows:

Spring: begins Victoria Day long weekend:

(May-June) Weds-Sunday 10 am-6 pm, Victoria Day 10am-5pm 

Summer:

(July-August) 7 days a week 10 am- 6 pm 

Fall: after *Labour day long weekend

Sept-October Weds-Sunday 10 am-6 pm 

Winter: Closed for Season, open by appointment only

Brand new to the Nisga’a Museum gift shop this season is t-shirts! They will also be carrying items from Wolf Pack Apparel, Selina’s Arts and Crafts, Chasity Stevens beaded earrings, Alice Clayton Moccasins, Alver Tait Jewelry and carving, Jada Creations and Calvin McNeil Carving. If anyone wishes to consign with the Nisga’a Museum, please have them contact Jolene Sampare at jolenes@nisgaa.net.

If any groups wish to visit the museum, we encourage you to call ahead to make a group booking, this will assist us in having adequate staffing available to the group as well as a scheduled time for a thorough tour.
