Rehabilitated Eagle Returns to the Nass and Will Be Released Today

On February 25, 2021 an eagle was reported injured in Gingolx.  Staff of the Ging̱olx Maintenance Department were able to cage the eagle and report it to NLG’s Department of Compliance and Enforcement who then picked up and transported the eagle to Terrace to meet Northern Lights Shelter of Smithers, B.C.

Fortunately, the eagle has fully recovered from its injuries and will be transported by NLG’s Enforcement Officers to Lax̱g̱alts’ap where it will be released at Maple Point at approximately 2:30pm today. This release spot is perfect as there is no power lines or obstructions in the area.

This is an incredibly heartwarming story and one we should all enjoy together!
