On January 23, 2019, the first order of business of the NLG Executive meeting was a swearing-in ceremony for Sim'oogit Daaxan, Perry Azak, from the Nisga'a Village of Gitwinksihlkw BC, will serve until 2020. Perry took oath of office as a regular member for the Council of Elders which was conducted by COE Chairperson, Simoogit Niis Yuus, Willard Martin.
