Snowpack, River Flow Update

Snowpack in the Skeena/Nass Area is 126% of normal. The above average snowpack will likely result in higher than average peak river flows in late May and June. Spring weather also has a significant impact on river flows. Weather during the rest of May and early June that is wetter or drier than normal, or that is warmer or colder than normal, can have significant effect on spring runoff river flows.

River Data

The solid blue line is the Nass River level. Current river levels are about 3.25 meters. There is no cause for concern.

The red lines are the water flow rate past the measuring station. The solid line is the current river flow rate. The dashed line is the average flow rate. Flow rates are slightly above average for this time of year. The dotted line are maxim flow rates. Current flow rates are significantly below the maxima.
