We Matter has been collecting multimedia stories from people across Canada to offer support to Indigenous youth going through hard times.

This video features NDP MLA Melanie Mark, who shares her own story of dealing with bullying growing up and the time she attempted suicide at 19. It could have been lethal, Mark said, but she reached out to an aunt last minute.

“You have to let people know that you need the help,” she said.
