In celebration of the 17th Anniversary since the effective date (May 11, 2000) of the Nisga'a Treaty, the Nisga'a Elementary Secondary School(NESS) and Gitwinksihlkw Elementary School (GES) marched from NESS to Nisga'a Lisims Government to commemorate Nisga'a Day by 'Walking Together' in a KindNESS March. There were a total of 200+ Students and Staff of NESS and GES that participated, all wore pink shirts and the NLG Staff color coordinated and also wore pink shirts.

The NESS and GES Students and Staff were welcomed by the Nisga'a Lisims Government Staff in open doors and presented with flags, pins and fruit/water bags. NESS and GES Teachers and Staff were presented with txeemsim mugs.

The agenda was short and sweet as the students had to be back in class.  The event was opened by Mr. Harry Nyce, Director of Nisga'a Fisheries and Wildlife Department, MC-ed by Mr. Brian Tait, Chairperson of the Nisga'a Nation and the Welcome Address/Closing Prayer was done by Mr. Willard Martin, Chairperson of the Council of Elders.

The Nisga'a Lisims Government and Staff were very pleased to welcome the Nisga'a Children and Youth as they are our future leaders.  Happy Nisga'a Day Everyone!  Walking Together in Sayt K'il'im Goot - One Heart, One Path, One Nation!
