Gwilatkw (November) 2017 Calendar - Ayuuḵhl Nisg̱a’a

In an effort promote the daily use of our Nisg̱a’a language in the workplace and at home, the Ayuuḵhl Nisg̱a’a Department has produced the attached monthly calendar for the current month of Gwilatkw (November).

In addition to the standard calendar content such as Hli hloḵsihl k’uuhl (months of the year), hli sadihl g̱anuutkw (days of the week) ii hli sadihl hloḵs (days of the month), the calendar also contains introductory sentences and phrases that may be practiced daily with co-workers or family and friends.

President Clayton addresses Prime Minister Trudeau at Forum in Ottawa

On November 1, 2017 Nisg̱a’a Nation President Eva Clayton joined with other Modern Treaty and Self-Governing First Nations in a Forum with Prime Minister Justin Trudeau.

Social Development Policy - Rate Increases

On October 26, 2017, the Nisg̱a’a Lisims Government Executive through resolution 2017/84 amended the Nisg̱a’a Social Development Policy to approve the following rate increases:

  1. Disability Level 2 increase effective April 01, 2017 (retroactive) in the following amounts:

  • $50 for single files

Social Development Policy - Information Sessions

The Nisg̱a’a Lisims Government Executive adopted the Social Development Policy & Procedures on September 28, 2017.   

The Social Development Policy Working Group will be scheduling Information Sessions in each Nisga’a Village to provide an overview of the policy to social development clients.

NLG Office Closure Due to No Water

Monday October 23, 2017 - there is currently no running water and it is not expected to be restored until 3:00pm today, therefore for health and safety reasons Nisga'a Lisims Government will be closed today.

Regular office hours will resume tomorrow at 9:00am.

The Great British Columbia ShakeOut Drill 2017.

On October 19, 2017 at 10:19 a.m., millions of people worldwide practiced how to “Drop, Cover and Hold On” during the Great ShakeOut Earthquake Drill. British Columbians join annually by regististration for the 2017 Great British Columbia ShakeOut.

As a safety practice for where you live, work, or travel, participating is a great way for your family or organization to be prepared to survive and recover quickly from big earthquakes.
