In Memory of Jim Fulton

On behalf of the Nisga’a Nation, Nisga’a Lisims Government wishes to extend sincere condolences to the family and friends of a dear and longtime friend of the Nisga’a, Jim Fulton.

Fulton, who succumbed to cancer on December 20, 2008 served as the New Democratic Party (NDP) MP of the Skeena riding for four consecutive terms from 1979 to 1993.  Over that period, Jim maintained a positive working relationship with the leadership of the then Nisga’a Tribal Council in their efforts to achieve what has since become the Nisga’a Treaty.

New Aiyansh Water Conservation Notice

Please be advised that there is a 48 hour water conservation notice effective noon Dec. 30.

This notice is due to heavy snowfall and low temperatures over the last few weeks which resulted in low water levels in the creek that supplies our water system.

Please use water sparingly over the next 48 hours while the New Aiyansh Village Government Maintenance Department builds up our water supply.

Please note that this is a precautionary notice and our current water supply will be fine if we use it rationally.

Nisga'a Cedar Crafts and Gifts Project

The project will provide 10 Nisga'a youth with a positive work experience as a means to achieving the following goals:

Play Ball!

Gitwinksihlkw hasn't had a ball field since the school was constructed. Earlier this year the village applied for a license of occupation for some land outside the village boundaries to construct a new ball field. The public was provided with the opportunity to comment on this request. No comments were received.
