Update on Activities at the Nisga'a Museum

Nisga’a Museum – March 18, 2013

Activities:

This month has been very productive for us at the Museum, there were two workshops held in the education room, the first workshop was “The Basics to First Nations Design” which was held March 4 to March 8 and the instructor was George McKay, in this workshop there were 12 participants from throughout the valley. On the last day a luncheon was held, and all students received certificates which were presented by Sigidimnak Hester Mckay.

Nisga'a Nation Hosts Jr. All Native Basketball Tournament this week

Welcome to teams, coaches and fans participating in the provincial Jr. All Native Basketball Tournament hosted by the Nisga'a Nation.

Games are taking place throughout the week at the four gymnasiums in the Nisga'a Villages of Gitlaxt'aamiks, Gitwinksihlkw, Laxgalts'ap and Gingolx.

Amid growing dissatisfaction with the slow pace of recovery, Japan marked the second anniversary Monday of the devastating earthquake and tsunami that left nearly 19,000 people dead or missing and has displaced more than 300,000.
