Terrace Legion Branch 13 Seeks Photos for 2019 Commemorative Calendar

The Terrace Legion Branch 13 has begun planning for the 2019 - 100th year celebration of there being a Veteran's organization  in Terrace.  
To celebrate the anniversary an commemorative calendar is being designed, which will be released on November 11th of 2018.
The Branch will be designing a 2019 calendar that will honour past and currents veterans by looking at the past 100 years of our Veterans Organization in Terrace.  

Community Economic Development Training Offered in Nass Valley

NEST is pleased to announce a “Community Economic Development Certificate Program,” offered right here in the Nass Valley. The program takes place over eight months, and begins with one week at SFU in Vancouver from October 1 to 5, 2018. There are live web-conference courses for six months every Tuesday from 10:00 am to 2:00pm, then the program ends with another week at SFU from May 6 to 10, 2019. Jagmeet Singh & Nathan Cullen Visit NLG

As part of their northwest tour, NDP leader Jagmeet Singh and Skeena-Bulkley Valley MP Nathan Cullen paid a visit to Nisg̱a’a Lisims Government on July 10th to meet with President Eva Clayton, Chairperson Brian Tait, Gitlax̱t’aamiks Chief Councillor Keith Tait and Gitwinksihlkw Chief Councillor Charles Morven.

Story: Protecting the Nisga'a Connection to the Oolichan

Working with staff from the Nisga'a Lisims Government Fisheries & Wildlife, Coast Funds has compiled a compelling story detailing the relationship between the Nisga'a nation and the oolichan. NLG undertook a multi-year research project to provide concrete evidence of the fish’s population, support its efforts at conserving the oolichan population, and ensure Nisga’a citizens can continue to harvest the fish each year.

Nisg̱a’a Language & Culture Consultations kick off in Prince Rupert

Last night the NLG Interim Nisg̱a’a language & Culture Authority held the first of seven community consultations in Gitmaxmak’ay. Approximately 25 were in attendance at the Nisg̱a’a Hall. It was good to see the Gitmaxmak’ay youth taking part in this consultation.
