North Coast - inland sections continued

Additional rainfall amounts 20 to 30 mm expected for the north and central coast regions tonight.

Total rainfall amounts of 50 to 70 mm expected over the Howe Sound and Fraser Valley - east including Chilliwack by Saturday morning.

This is a warning that significant rainfall is expected or occurring in these regions. Monitor weather conditions..Listen for updated statements.

A pacific front over the central coast will continue to give rain heavy at times to the north and central coastal regions where additional amounts up to 30 mm are forecast tonight. Rain is likely to continue over the area on Saturday before tapering to a few showers in the evening.

The front will move to the south coast this evening bringing heavy rain to Howe Sound and Fraser Valley. Total rainfall amounts of 50 to 70 mm are expected by Saturday morning for these regions.

As the front moved southward, strong southerly winds over the central coast coastal sections had abated late this afternoon. Southerly winds of 50 to 70 km/h over West Vancouver Island are expected to ease overnight as the front moves further southward.
