Severe thunderstorm watch for
North Coast - inland sections issued

Isolated severe thunderstorms are possible late this afternoon and early this evening.

This is an alert to the potential development of severe thunderstorms with large hail and damaging winds.

Monitor weather conditions..Listen for updated statements. If threatening weather approaches take immediate safety precautions.

An upper disturbance off the central coast will drift towards northern Vancouver Island this afternoon. The disturbance will destabilize the atmosphere over surrounding regions and in combination with strong daytime heating create conditions favourable for the development of isolated severe thunderstorms. These storms are capable of producing intense lightning, heavy downpours, damaging winds and large hail.
