Local Junior Police Academy event deemed a success

Gitlaxt’aamiks - As the summer break nears the end in our beautiful valley, the Lisims Nass Valley RCMP has been hard at work recruiting some of the most enthusiastic young people for future police work.

On Saturday, August 26, 2023, nearly 20 local youngsters, between the ages of 5 and 12 years, embarked on a journey that provided them with a small glimpse into the day to day work of a police officer.

Participants are required to possess a valid Nisga’a Fisheries Licence and IS Permit. Permit Sales: Permits can be purchased at Nisga’a Fisheries office during regular business hours (9:00 am to 5:00 pm) Monday to Friday and at the Nisga’a Hall in Prince Rupert during their regular business hours (8:30 am to 4:30 pm), from Monday to Friday.
