Advisory Update - water on road
Please Be Advised: Water is apparent on roads.

Each section of highway has now seen water recede since last week. Flooding at the Tree Cast Auto Tour stop location is still under traffic control and is a work zone.
Drivers are reminded to drive safely for those working on the roads.
--- Update, as of May 19, 2023, Morning ---
Please be advised: the Ministry of Transportation & Infrastructure is recommending that small cars avoid a low section of the Nisga’a Highway located near the Tree Cast Auto Tour stop due to water on the road.
Traffic controls will be put into place preventing small car traffic from trying to pass through this section of the highway.

There is 24-hour traffic control with one-way alternating traffic at Ginuluk corner. Water remains on the road at the Lava Beds with one lane traffic in places.
Ministry of Transportation and Infrastructure is continuing to monitor water level at these locations.
Please drive carefully as contractors are actively on the road monitoring and controlling traffic.

Nisga'a Lisims Government Department of Lands & Resources has been updated by Ministry of Transpoertation & Infrastructure on road conditions:
This evening there will be one-way alternating traffic at the Ginuluk corner (see map attached).
There also continues to be water on the road on the Lava Beds. Motorist are advised to drive carefully in these locations.
--- May 17, 2023, Morning Update ---
At the moment there are no road closures but the Ministry of Transportation & Infrastructure and the Nisga'a Lisims Government Department of Lands & Resources are monitoring water levels.
