The Nisga’a Treaty recognizes Nisga’a Nation ownership in fee simple of approximately 2,000 square kilometres of Nisga’a Lands. The Treaty also sets out the right of the Nisga’a people to harvest salmon originating in, and other fish throughout, 26,838 square kilometres of territory, known as the Nass Area, and to hunt in the Nass Wildlife Area (approximately 16,101 square kilometres).
