BC Regional Mining Alliance Launches Bursary Program for Nisg̱a’a Pursuing Higher Education in the Mining Field


As an Indigenous member of the BC Regional Mining Alliance ("BCRMA"), Nisg̱a’a Lisims Government is delighed to share the launch of BCRMA’s Bursary Program that will directly benefit Nisg̱a’a citizens pursuing post-secondary studies related to the mining industry. 

2023 BC Regional Mining Alliance Bursary Program


The BC Regional Mining Alliance ("BCRMA") is a regional partnership between Indigenous Nations, industry and provincial government representatives that collaborate to attract and enable investments in BC’s mining activities through meaningful partnerships.

The BCRMA is committed to strengthening capacity development with Indigenous Nations and is launching the BCRMA Bursary Program by awarding up to four $2,500 bursaries to students pursuing a career in the mining industry.

Eligibility Requirements

To be eligible for this BCRMA Bursary, applicants must:

  • Be a member of the Nisga’a Nation;
  • Be enrolled in post-secondary studies in the mining field; and
  • Have a valid social insurance number.

Application Details

Interested applicants must submit the following items:

  • Completed BC Regional Mining Alliance Bursary Program Application Form;
  • Resume detailing relevant background information; and
  • Two reference letters supporting your application.

Applications must be sent to Candice Appleby (cappleby@amebc.ca), BCRMA Manager, by August 18, 2023 at 4:00 PM PST.
