NAIG Series: Stanley Yeomans-Stewart - Under 14 Males Basketball
Stanley Ross Yeomans-Stewart is ganada from the house of sim'oogit Ksim Xsaan from the community of Laxgalts'ap. His parents are Shannon Yeomans, Bertram McKay, and Stanley Stewart Sr. He is representing Team BC on the Under 14 Males Basketball team!
I started playing basketball when I was 9 years old, this was my first year to play with Hlgu Noosik U13 Boys. 14 years old now and I played my last year of U13 with Hlgu Noosik in JANT, I was the only Nisga’a representing his home town to receive an All-Star Award. I represented my hometown this year, 2023; U13 Hlgu Noosik, U17 Noosik. I had the chance to experience ANBT with Laxgalts’ap Intermediates. Earlier in the year, my grade 8 basketball team had an undefeated season and placed 1st in Provincial Zones.
I’d like to thank my step-dad Bertram McKay, for making sure I was up, ready and drove me to my basketball games. My mom and step-dad for all donations and fundraising they did for myself and teams.
I am excited for this opportunity and looking forward to represent my home town, Laxgalts’ap. I appreciate everyone’s support!
