Introduction from the New CEO
I would like to introduce myself as the new CEO of Gitlaxdax Nisga’a Terrace Society.
My name is Denise Olsson, my Haida name is Jaad’lljuus I belong to the K’aadas Ga Kiigawaay (Raven/Wolf) Clan of T’aanuu Llnagaay, Haida Gwaii.
I moved to Terrace with my husband and two boys from Haida Gwaii in November of 2021. We lived on Haida Gwaii for 22 years.
I have 24 years’ experience in an Administrative/Executive Assistant role and 14 years’ experience in Managerial/Leadership roles. My last position was as an Executive Assistant for the Marine Planning Program at the Council of the Haida Nation. I come to this position with many years of working with a variety of partners and programs building and ensuring successful program implementation. I have organized and managed large-scale budgets with complex contribution agreements and have an eye for detail. I have extensive experience leading teams creating and supporting HR related functions and successful project management skills.
I will be working closely with the Chair Person/Board and the acting CEO/Finance Manager ensuring a successful transition into the CEO role starting April 3, 2023
