Deanna Nyce Defends PhD Dissertation at UBC

Deanna Nyce defended her Doctoral dissertation entitled, “Traditional Nisga’a Leadership: The Challenge Through Change” at the UBC First Nations House of Learning today, March 13, 2019.

Deanna was enrolled in UBC’s Interdisciplinary Studies Graduate Program and her defence consisted of a 30 minute presentation summarizing major research findings in her dissertation, including the knowledge and wisdom of the 10 simgigat and sigidimhaanak research interviewees.

After short deliberation, the committee announce that Deanna had passed with no revision required. Deanna will receive her PhD at UBC convocation this spring.
