NAIG Series: Nathaniel Dawson - Under 16 Males Softball

Nathaniel Dawson is laxsgiik. from the house of sim'oogit Gwiix Maaw, from the community of New Aiyansh. His parents are Lindsay and Lyman Dawson, and he reprsents Team BC on the Under 16 Males Softball team!

Nathaniel was born to play baseball. He could hit the ball before he learned how to walk. Nathaniel grew up on the baseball field, inspired by his dad (Lyman Dawson) his Auntie (Billie Sinclair) and his Uncle (Nathaniel Henry.) He strives to be a better ball player learning along the way from his family team (Slowpokes)

Nathaniel participated in the first NAIG tryouts in Port Coquitlam BC. He was later called to move on to the second tryouts in Prince George BC. He later received his acceptance letter to be on Team BC U16 Softball! The timing was perfect, as Nathaniel was able to personally tell his grandfather (Glen Nisyok) that he made the team! Sadly, His grandfather passed away not long after. The proud smile Nathaniel received from his grandfather was something he will never forget.

Nathaniel would like to thank his grandma (Andrea Nisyok) for donating items to help with his fundraising. He would also like to thank those that helped support his fundraising efforts. And to the many that showed him support in his journey.

Nathaniel would like to take this opportunity to dedicate his participation at NAIG 2023 to his late Grandfather (Glen Nisyok)  and to his late Godfather (Mike Billy)

There have been many days devoted to personal training and actively fundraising. Nate is extremely excited to represent Team BC and the Nisga'a Nation!

Si'aamhl wilin Nathaniel!
