Aam wil bakwsim’!
Welcome to the online community for the Nisga’a Nation.
We are Hli gadihl Nisga’a ahl K’alii Aksim Lisims—Nisga’a, People of the Nass River—who have occupied and thrived in British Columbia’s Nass Valley since before recorded time. Today, we welcome the world to our self-governing nation, home of British Columbia’s first modern treaty.
K’alii Aksim Lisims (the Nass River) flows through a land of sacred mountains and dense forests on Canada’s Pacific Coast. It is the lifeblood of our people. Today, the Nisga’a Nation includes nearly 7,000 people residing in the Nisga’a Villages of Gingolx, Laxgalts’ap, Gitwinksihlkw, Gitlaxt'aamix (formerly New Aiyansh) and beyond the Nass Valley in Terrace, Prince Rupert /Port Edward, Greater Vancouver, and across North America. We are represented by Nisga’a Lisims Government.
Whether you are a local Nisga’a citizen looking for information on government services, a Nisga’a citizen who lives away from home wishing to connect with your community, or anyone seeking for more information about visiting or doing business with us, welcome.
If the information you’re looking for is not found in this website, please feel free to give us a call or stop by at our government offices. We’d be happy to help.
