2026 Hunting Season with application form.

Public Notice
Nisga’a Moose Hunters
Nisga’a Lisims Government advises that the Nisga’a moose allocation for 2026 will be 53 (TBC) bull moose only, no cows and no calves. The harvest will occur in:

Season 1: September 1st, 2026, to October 15th, 2026
Season 2: October 16th, 2026, to November 30th, 2026

Any Nisga’a hunters who wish to enter the moose lottery must complete an application online at https://forms.office.com/r/AHi7Ra8gkL or by calling or visiting in person the Nisga’a Fisheries and Wildlife office* at (250) 633-2617. To apply you must have a Nisga’a hunting licence that is valid until 30 November 2026. If successful you will be required to present your hunting licence to collect your moose permit. Nisga’a hunters with expired hunting licences will need to come to the Nisga’a Fisheries and Wildlife office* for renewal.

The deadline for name submissions is August 14th, 2026, at 4:00pm. A random draw will be done no later than August 21st, 2026, by 2:00pm.

The Nisga’a Fisheries and Wildlife Committee advises that only 1 tag will be awarded per household. Therefore, all members of a household may submit their names in the draw; however, once the first household member’s name is drawn the remaining names are null and void. Note that a successful permit holder CANNOT transfer their permit.

Nisga’a Hunting Licence: Licence renewal can be purchased at a cost of $25.00 (cash only, fee waived for citizens >60 years) at Nisga’a Fisheries office during regular business hours (9:00 am to 5:00 pm) Monday to Friday. When applying for licence renewals you must present EITHER:
•A valid Nisga’a Citizenship Card OR
•A Citizenship confirmation sheet from NLG Enrolment and Citizenship Department.

For all license enquiries, please contact Teniel Palmer via e-mail @ tenielp@nisgaanation.ca or call (250) 633-2617.
