Nisg̱a’a Lisims Food Distribution in Four Nisg̱a’a Villages Today
To support the efforts of self-isolation and social distancing, Nisga’a Lisims Government has purchased $32,000 of groceries directly from the provincial food supplier, Sysco Canada. The food truck arrived at 4:00 pm on April 2nd. It was sorted by many volunteers with every precaution taken, each community received approximately 100 boxes of produce, meats and non-perishables to support the distribution from Village Governments. This food is to be distributed by each village government at their discretion with a focus on the Elders and Vulnerable residents in each community
Each Nisg̱a’a Village Government as well as the Gitwinksihlkw Salvation Army Food Share received provisions from this grocery order.
