By a unanimous vote, Wilp Si’ayuuḵhl Nisg̱a’a adopted the Independent Auditors Report and consolidated financial statements at its sitting on Monday July 29, 2019.

Nisga'a Lisims Government (the "Government") has received a "clean", unmodified opinion on its consolidated financial statements as at and for the year ended March 31, 2019.

The Independent Auditors Report issued by Deloitte states, in part "In our opinion, the accompanying financial statements present fairly, in all material respects, the financial position of the Government as at March 31, 2019 and the results of its operations, changes in its net financial assets and its cash flows for the year then ended in accordance with Canadian public sector accounting standards."

This indicates that the auditors (Deliotte LLP) have determined that NLG's financial statements are free from material misstatement.  In addition, an unmodified opinion indicates that the financial records have been maintained in accordance with Canadian Public Sector Accounting Standards.  This is the best type of report the Government can receive.

Deloitte presented the 2019 Consolidated Financial Statements to the Nisg̱a’a Finance Committee on on July 23, 2019.  The NLG Executive then accepted the recommendation of the Nisg̱a’a Finance Committee at their meeting on July 24, 2019 and further recommended that Wilp Si’ayuuḵhl Nisg̱a’a accept the Independent Auditors Report and related consolidated financial statements as at and for the year ended March 31, 2019.
