POSITION: NEST Intake Coordinator
SALARY RANGE: Commensurate with Qualifications and Experience
SUPERVISOR: NEST Employment and Readiness Manager
HOURS: 35 hours per week TERM: Full-Time Permanent LOCATION: New Aiyansh, BC
JOB SUMMARY: The Intake Coordinator is responsible for completing and managing the full intake process for Nisga’a citizens applying to the NEST program. This role ensures accurate eligibility confirmation, supports citizens in gathering required documentation, maintains detailed tracking systems, and provides monthly reporting on trends. The Intake Coordinator also plans and delivers intake sessions throughout the NEST Service Area to ensure citizens across all communities receive consistent support.

DUTIES:
Intake & Eligibility

  • Complete the intake process with citizens, including initial screening and file creation.
  • Confirm Nisga’a citizenship and residency within the NEST Service Area.
  • Conduct Service Canada verifications to confirm eligibility under the ISET program.
  • Assist clients with gathering all required documentation (acceptance letters, co-sponsorship letters, training program information, quotes,
    resumes).
  • Plan, coordinate, and deliver intake sessions in communities across the NEST Service Area.
  • Travel throughout the Service Area as needed to ensure citizens are fully supported throughout the intake process.
  • Provide coaching, guidance, and clear communication to clients on requirements and next steps.
    Tracking, Assignment & Reporting
  • Track all citizens who have started and completed an application.
  • Maintain a detailed Excel spreadsheet tracking all incoming applications and their status.
  • Ensure all completed applications are assigned promptly to the appropriate Employment Advisor.
  • Keep organized, confidential records and ensure all files meet ISET compliance standards.
  • Prepare monthly reports on trends, challenges, and community-specific service needs.
    Administrative & Team Support
  • Update and maintain intake forms, templates, checklists, and documentation requirements.
  • Support NEST team operations by ensuring files are complete before handoff.
  • Provide administrative support to the NEST Manager as required.

    EDUCATION / KNOWLEDGE / SKILLS / ABILITIES:
  • Grade 12 or GED required
  • Post-secondary education in Business Administration, Social Services, Human Services, or related field preferred.
  • Minimum two years of intake, client services, administrative, or case management experience.
  • Experience using Excel or Databases for tracking and reporting
  • Experience working with confidential information and supporting clients through structured processes.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills; able to manage multiple applications at different stages.
  • Detail-oriented with strong documentation and follow-up abilities.
  • Coaching and client-support skills, with a resourceful and solution-focused approach.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work with diverse audiences.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
  • Knowledge of Nisga’a culture, language, and Treaty is an asset

OTHER: The successful candidate will be required to have/complete/provide:

  • A valid BC Drivers’ license with current drivers’ abstract
