POSITION: Nisga’a Employment Readiness & Training Coordinator

SALARY RANGE: Commensurate with Qualifications and Experience

SUPERVISOR: NEST Employment and Readiness Manager

HOURS: 35 hours per week TERM: Permanent LOCATION: New Aiyansh, BC

JOB SUMMARY: The Employment Readiness & Training Coordinator will coordinate and deliver programming that enables NEST employment Advisors to assist citizens in acquiring the training, skills, and supports needed to gain full-time employment. This role requires a high level of planning, expectational attention to detail, and the ability to collaborate with multiple organizations and employers across the NEST Service Area. The coordinator will also support clients in achieving their career and educational goals, with the ultimate objective of helping clients secure meaningful employment and improve their quality of life.

DUTIES:

· Oversee and directs all stages, partnerships, scheduling, and coordination of training programs;

· Manage day to day training program decisions

· Facilitates staff discussions to address program issues and develop plans for action and implementation

· Leads brainstorming sessions to develop new concepts and processes training programs

· Plans, coordinates, and executes program activities at a high level, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and funding requirements

· Facilitates job readiness, employability, and career development workshops for clients

· collaborates with employers, community organizations, training institutions and internal teams to support client’s pathway to employment

· Creates opportunities for clients to connect with potential employers and facilitates introductions after clients successfully complete training

· Identifies gaps to employment and works with clients to address barriers, supporting career readiness and long-term success

· Oversees clients progress, directs remediation strategies, and applies discipline when required

· Reviews program progress and compares actual client numbers to training program targets

· Monitors Training Program Budgets;

· Prepare Written reports on training program progress, client outcomes, and partner outcomes for funders

· Oversees long-term and day-to-day planning of operations of training projects

CONDUCTS ASSESSMENT AND EVALUATIONS:

· Writes students progress reports to record data on skills development, participation, and other observations

· Liaises with Employment Advisors and Trades Job Coaches regarding barriers to progress

· Support clients career planning and training program progress throughout all training programs

· Completed other operational duties as required

EDUCATION / KNOWLEDGE / SKILLS / ABILITIES:

· Diploma or certification in Business Administration or a related field or minimum 2 years’ experience in support role within education, training or labour market programming

· Facilitation certification

· Strong facilitation skills, including delivering job readiness and employability workshops

· High-level of planning coordination, and organizational skills with strong attention to detail

· Ability to collaborate effectively with community partners, employers and organizations throughout the NEST Service Area

· Ability to network and strengthen collaborative relationships

· Ability to travel and work independently and withing a team

· Demonstrated experience in project planning and execution

· Ability to work under time-sensitive conditions

· Excellent written and verbal communication skills in a professional setting

· Adhere to security and confidentiality protocols

OTHER: The successful candidate will be required to have/complete/provide:

1. A valid BC Drivers’ license with current drivers’ abstract

2. Three recent work related references;

3. The successful candidate will be subject to a criminal reference check and credit check;

4. Access to a vehicle required;

5. Regional travel within the NEST Service Area will be required;
