POSITION: Social Development Implementation Coordinator
SALARY RANGE: Commensurate with Qualifications and Experience
SUPERVISOR: Director of Programs and Services
HOURS: 35 hours per week TERM: Full-time Permanent LOCATION: New Aiyansh BC
JOB SUMMARY: The Social Development Implementation Coordinator supports the delivery, implementation, reporting, and adjudication of Nisga’a Social Development programs. The position assists the Director of Programs and Services in ensuring consistent application of the Nisga’a Social Development Policy and Procedures Manual, maintaining reporting systems and supporting Village Social Development staff. This role focuses on program implementation and compliance.
DUTIES:

  • Assist the Director in the administration and implementation of Social Development programs, including:
    o Maintaining statistical reporting systems and preparing monthly expenditure reports
    o Monitoring budgets and ensuring compliance with the Nisga’a Social Development Policy and Procedures Manual and funding
    agreements
    o Liaising with Village Social Development staff for program interpretation, implementation, and support
  • Assist in preparation of operating budgets and provide guidance to Nisga’a Lisims Government and Nisga’a Village Governments on
    program delivery and management.
  • Provide training and support to Nisga’a Social Development staff and Village Government administrative and financial personnel.
  • Liaise with provincial and federal social development organizations regarding program requirements, reporting expectations, and changes
    to practice.
  • Interpret and apply provincial, federal, and Nisga’a Social Development policies to ensure consistent implementation and adjudication of
    applications and appeals.
  • Implement and maintain uniform reporting formats and program forms, and collaborate with Finance to ensure accurate reporting.
  • Develop teaching materials and resources to support program delivery.
  • Track Court processes related to Social Development hearings.
  • Other related duties as assigned.
    EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE / KNOWLEDGE / SKILLS / ABILITIES:
  • Bachelor Social Worker (BSW) level degree, a minimum five years related experience in Social Development or
  • Registered Social Worker with a minimum five years related experience within a First Nations administration.
  • Minimum of five years experience in program delivery within a First Nations Administration;
  • Experience writing, analyzing and interpreting policy;
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills;
  • Ability to prioritize, organize and manage a workload which often includes multiple competing demands;
  • Highly organized and structured, with attention to detail;
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications;
  • Positive attitude and a strong work ethic;
  • Knowledge of the Nisga’a Treaty an asset;
  • Ability to understand and speak or familiarity with Nisga’a language and culture an asset.
    OTHER:
  • 3 recent work related references will be required;
  • A Valid BC drivers’ license with recent driver’ abstract.
