POSITION: Data Entry Clerk
SALARY RANGE: Commensurate with Qualifications and Experience
SUPERVISOR: Director of Language and Culture
HOURS: 35 hours per week TERM: Full-time Permanent LOCATIONS: New Aiyansh, BC
JOB SUMMARY: The Data Entry Clerk reports to the Director of Language and Culture. The Data Entry Clerk’s primary duty is to type information from original documents created in pre-treaty for storage in our database from paper documents. The Data Entry Clerk will understand data confidentiality principles.
DUTIES:
•Transfer data from paper formats into computer files or database systems using keyboard.
•Create Word documents using Nisga’a font.
•Verify data by comparing the completed Word document draft to source documents.
•Sort and organize paperwork after entering data to ensure it is not lost.
•Work with Records Management Technician to store electronic files accordingly.
•Operates in a climate of confidentiality requiring discretion.
•Other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
•Minimum grade 12 or equivalency required.
•Diploma or equivalent years of experience in data entry.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
•Proficient level of fluency and literacy of the Nisga’a language is preferred with a willingness to develop fluency through mentor/apprentice.
•Performs efficiently and effectively in a team environment.
•Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail required.
•Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills required.
•Proficient in use of standard Microsoft Office and willingness to learn to use other applications is required.
OTHER:
The successful candidate will be required to have/complete/provide:
•A valid BC Drivers’ license with current drivers’ abstract;
•Three recent work related references;
•The successful candidate will be subject to a criminal records check.
