POSITION: Accounting Clerk
SALARY RANGE: Based on Qualifications
SUPERVISOR: Accounting / Finance Manager
HOURS: 35 hours per week
TERM: Full-Time Permanent
LOCATION: New Aiyansh, British Columbia
JOB SUMMARY: Within fiscal authority guidelines, in accordance with GAAP and as directed by the Accounting Manager, this position will assist to maintain professional standards and compliance with legislative guidelines provincial, federally and within the NLG Financial Administrations Act. The primary function is to process Accounts Payable, reconcile the Bank and to assist in other day-to-day tasks within the Accounting cycle.
DUTIES:
- Process Accounts Payable;
- Provide month end reporting;
- Prepare bank reconciliation.
EDUCATION or OCCUPATIONAL CERTIFICATION:
- High School Diploma (Grade 12) a minimum;
- Accounting or Business diploma/degree preferred.
EXPERIENCE:
- Minimum 2 years working in an accounting environment required;
- Strong Excel experience;
- Familiarity with Sage Accpac ERP an asset;
SKILLS/ABILITIES:
- Strong written and verbal communication skills;
- Ability to understand and speak the Nisga’a Language an asset;
- Familiar with the Nisga’a culture an asset.
The successful candidate will be required to complete/provide:
- 3 recent work related references;
- The successful candidate will be subject to a criminal reference check and credit check;
- Educational transcripts;
