Nisga'a Language Jurisdiction

Nisga'a Lisims Government can make laws to preserve, promote, and develop Nisga'a culture and Nisga'a language — including laws to authorize or accredit the use, reproduction, and representation of Nisga'a cultural symbols and practices, and the teaching of Nisga'a language. This does not include jurisdiction to make laws in respect of intellectual property, the official languages of Canada or the prohibition of activities outside of Nisga'a Lands.

In the event of an inconsistency or conflict between a Nisga'a law and a federal or provincial law, the Nisga'a law prevails to the extent of the inconsistency or conflict.
