SUPERVISOR:          Project Coordinator-Labour Market Study

HOURS:                   Start Date September 9, 2010 ‚Äì August 2011

                                 (Approximately 500hrs as required throughout project)

LOCATION:             New Aiyansh, British Columbia

 

NATURE AND SCOPE OF PROJECT:  Nisga‚Äôa Lisims Government Program and Services Department has undertaken the task of creating a Labour Market Plan for the Nass Valley and the Nisga‚Äôa Urban Local Areas that will form a baseline for assisting in policy development and position training and education for Nisga‚Äôa citizens to enable them to participate in meaningful employment and economic activity and to provide them with skills to assist them in becoming self-sufficient (the ‚ÄúProject‚Äù). The video production completed by the successful candidate will accompany the final report prepared for the Project, to be termed the ‚ÄúNisga‚Äôa Sustainability Employment Plan‚Äù.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Meet with Director of Programs and Services and senior members of the Project team to discuss assignment and determine filming sequences, camera movements and picture composition;
  2. Select and set up camera equipment to be used, and attach lens, filters and film magazine to camera;
  3. Adjust focus, exposure, lighting and other camera settings;
  4. Operate film or video camera to record meetings and interviews;
  5. Label and record contents of digital film and complete report sheets;
  6. Video editing of digit film;
  7. Test, maintain and store equipment.

 

EMPLOYMENT REQUIREMENTS:

  1. Completion of a college technical program in broadcasting, audio-visual technology or a related field;
  2. Experience as a camera assistant an asset;
  3. Creative and technical ability, as demonstrated by portfolio of work and experience;
  4. Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation for travel.
