Employment Opportunity Casual Maintenance Worker – on call

Job Summary: Performs maintenance and service work on buildings, grounds, vehicles, and equipment at NVHA sites on a casual basis and in accordance with the HEU Collective Agreement. The position reports to the Corporate Services Manager.

Duties:

• Travels between NVHA sites to provide maintenance/service work on buildings, grounds, vehicles and equipment.

•Maintains grounds at NVHA sites.

•Business runs to NVHA sites and Terrace twice per week.

•Organizes work to meet deadlines with limited supervision.

•Other related duties as required.

Qualifications

•Previous maintenance and carpentry experience.

•Related education, and certification i.e. ‘transportation of dangerous goods’ an asset.

•Working knowledge of operation of power tools, hand tools, grounds equipment, and vehicles.

•Working knowledge of WHMIS and Work Safe BC Health and Safety procedures.

•Valid BC Class 5 Driver’s License.

•Physical ability to maintain position.

•Current criminal record check.
