Permanent (35 hours per week)

LOCATION:                  New Aiyansh, British
Columbia

 

JOB SUMMARY: The Team Leader is a specialized
position ensuring protective services to children and families are delivered
within Nisga'a Delegated Enabling Agreement (DEA). This position has authority,
accountability and responsibility to plan, develop, manage, coordinate and
evaluate the delivery of integrated initiatives and services. The Team Leader
is directly accountable for the quality of service to clients accessing their
team, setting and monitoring standards of practice. The Team Leader must take
direct responsibility to work with and liaise with Village Governments.

 

Educational or Occupational
Certification:

1.       University degree in Social
Work (MSW of BSW); or BA Child and Youth Care; or M.Ed. Counseling/Clinical
Psychology having completed a practicum in family and child welfare.

2.       Delegated for Resource
Guardianship C-4 is an asset.

 

Experience

1.       Minimum of 5 years working
experience;

2.       Previous capacity as a
supervisor a definite asset.

 

Knowledge

1.       Knowledge of legislation,
standards and practices related to Child Protection, Social Work, Family
Support, Guardianship and Court Procedures;

2.       Knowledge of Integrated
Case Management;

 

Skills and Abilities

1.       Facilitate meetings;

2.       Working effectively with
foster and adoptive parents;

3.       Goal setting;

4.       Strong organizational and
time management skills;

5.       Conflict resolution skills;

6.       Good written and oral
communication skills;

7.       Conducting employee
performance appraisals.

8.       Supervisory skills in
administration and case management.

 

Other

1.       B.C. Driver License, Class
5 required;

2.       Successful candidate
subject to criminal record review;

3.       Successful candidate will
be required to provide 3 working references.
