JOB SUMMARY:
Reporting to the District Nisga'a Elections Officer, the individuals will administer voting opportunities at the district polling station for the upcoming National Election of the Nisga'a Nation.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Speak English, Write English, Read English
- Knowledge of Nisga'a language and culture an asset
- Preference will be given to those familiar with the Nisga'a Elections Act and related Legislation
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:
- Good interpersonal skills working with people including sensitivity, tact, diplomacy and good judgment.
- Demonstrated ability to deal with potentially difficult and volatile situations.
- Demonstrated ability to work under pressure, to work with minimal supervision, to take initiative, to organize and prioritize workload and to meet deadlines.
- Demonstrated ability to establish/maintain satisfactory work relationships with the public and other employees, to deal tactfully and effectively with co-workers, public and staff, to maintain confidentiality, and to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
- Ability to work within a team environment.
- Ability to carry out the physical demands of the job, working 12 hours or more a day on designated days.
