Welcome to the Nisga'a Youth Zone!

This is the place where today's Nisga'a youth can connect with other Nisga'a Youth, find out about events, services, and opportunities of interest to young Nisga'a.

Its also a place where Nisga'a Youth can express their views by linking to our facebook page (see footer or Home page).

NISGA'A YOUTH COORDINATOR

If you are a young person, then the Nisga'a Youth Coordinator works for you. NLG has established a full-time position for a Nisga'a Youth Coordinator (NYC) whose role is to work with the Nisga'a Youth Advisory Council (NYAC), and to serve as a liason between the NYAC and NLG. The Youth Coordinator is also a good source of information about current events, topics, and resources.

UPCOMING AND ANNUAL EVENTS

Easter egg hunt: Every Easter.

Youth conference: Each year, the Nisga'a Youth have their annual conference held in one of the four Nisga'a Villages where youth can gather and discuss the topics of the day. Once complete, the Youth put together a report that is transmitted each Nisga'a Village Government and NLG. Canoe journey: The Nisga'a people have traveled by canoe, hunted and traded along the BC Coast since time immemorial. After Norman Tait launched the first canoe journey of the Nisga'a Nation in over a century, the Nisga'a Nation has held this event, which is now includes youth participation. It happens each summer each year and is presently sponsored by the Nisga'a Valley Health Board. For more information, contact the Nisga'a Valley Health Board (250) 633-5000

Long boat races at Lava Lake: during aboriginal awareness week, Nisga'a Nation celebrates this event. 

NYAC works with each of its Nisga'a Village Governments and the Youth Coordinator to develop responses to these pressing issues facing youth. SERVICES FOR YOUTH
