Notice in Accordance with Nisga’a Law

Nominations are open for the following elected office:

One Non-Executive Vancouver
Nisga’a Urban Local Representative 

The nomination meeting for the above elected office will be held at:

Château Granville

1100 Granville Street

Vancouver, B.C.   V5N 5R3

The nomination meeting will take place on:

Tuesday, November 10, 2015

from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm

The Nisga’a Elections Officer will receive nominations for the above elected offices only at the above meeting.

• Nominees for the elected office of Nisga’a Urban Local Representative for the Vancouver Nisga’a Urban Local:

  • mustbe Nisga’a citizens and must be at least 18 years of age;

  • mustordinarily reside in the Nisga’a Urban Local Area for the Vancouver Nisga’a Urban Local (see section 54 of the Nisga’a Government Act); and

  • must not otherwise be disqualified to stand for office under section 15(2) of the Nisga’a Elections Act.

• At the above nomination meeting, a Nisga’a citizen listed on the Nisga’a Voters List as ordinarily residing in the Vancouver Nisga’a Urban Local Area may nominate or second the nomination of a person for the above elected offices.

• Nominators and seconders must provide the Nisga’a Elections Officer with required nomination forms.

• Nominees must provide the NisÞa’a Elections Officer with required nomination papers and must pay a nomination deposit of $100 (only cash, money order or certified cheque payable to the NisÞa’a Nation will be accepted).
