ELECTED OFFICIALS WORKSHOPS 2009

The Provincial Emergency Program (PEP) sponsored Elected Officials
Workshops will be taking place throughout March and April, 2009 in 20
different communities throughout British Columbia.

Objectives:  The primary purpose of the workshops is threefold:

  • To provide awareness and education about the BC Emergency Management Structure and support to communities;
  • To provide understanding of legislated obligations and the role Elected
    Officials play in managing all phases of emergencies; and
  • To explain funding sources available to local authorities and how to maximize reimbursement to communities.

  • Mayors and Council members
  • Regional District Chairs and Board members
  • Chief Administrative Officers
  • Emergency Program Coordinator
