SALARY RANGE:     Based on qualifications

SUPERVISOR:         Director of Lands and Resources

TERM:                  10 month Term from March 2012 ‚Äì January 2013

LOCATION:          New Aiyansh, British Columbia

 

JOB SUMMARY: Performs administrative and clerical support to the Director and managers of the Lands and Resources directorate.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. The performance of various administrative tasks including:
  • All communication activities including telephone, fax, e-mail;
  • Scheduling of all appointments;
  • Receiving and distributing mail;
  • Coordination of, and preparation for meetings (agendas, photocopying, facilities, attendees, etc.)
  • Maintenance of the Filing system including control of confidential materials
  • Creation of correspondence including reports, minutes, photocopies, etc., as required
  • Travel planning/arrangements, as required
  • Other general office functions
  1. Monitoring all Directorate and departmental budgets by assisting with the administration of Purchase Orders, coding and working with the finance department to ensure timely processing of financial reports.
  2. Coordinate directorate reporting material required for NLG Executive and Lands & Resources committee meetings and by working with the Executive Assistant to the Chief Executive Officer to accomplish this.
  3. Other duties may be assigned.

 

EDUCATION or OCCUPATIONAL CERTIFICATION:

  1. Minimum high school diploma;
  2. Post secondary training in Business Administration an asset.

 

EXPERIENCE:

  1. Minimum of 5 years in an administrative assistant position is preferred;
  2. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications is required;

 

SKILLS/ABILITIES:

  1. Excellent organizational , communication and interpersonal skills;
  2. Ability to understand and speak or familiarity with Nisga’a language and culture an asset.

 

The successful candidate will be required to complete/provide:

  1. 3 recent work related references;
  2. The successful candidate will be subject to a criminal records check;
