POSITION:           Project Coordinator

SALARY RANGE:   $28.57 per hour

SUPERVISOR:       Director of Programs and Services or Designate

TERM:                 ASAP to September 1, 2010

LOCATION:         New Aiyansh, British Columbia

 

JOB SUMMARY: The incumbent is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the Nisga‚Äôa Log Home Building Project.  He/she will be responsible for engaging 18 participants in Training to Employment Partnership Program to become trained as Industry Training Approved certified log home building workers. The coordinator must be a leader, creative problem solver, be able to meet deadlines and pay attention to details.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Must be familiar with the funding contract, timelines and adhere to reporting obligations in a timely manner;
  • Liaison with NLG entities and related external stakeholders;
  • Maintain participant files, attendance records assessments and follow-ups when required;
  • Provides administrative and financial support;
  • Provides progress, financial and statistical reports according to funding contract and NLG policies;
  • Supervise the project employment counselor and 18 project participants;
  • Coordinates public relations, marketing and outreach functions.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Grade 12 ;
  • Completed Post Secondary training in a relevant discipline;
  • Experience in  trades and technical preferably carpentry;
  • Posses a valid class 5 BC Driver‚Äôs License
  • Be willing to obtain a class 4 BC Driver‚Äôs License;
    • At least 2 years working/managing/supervising industrial programs;
    • Ability to understand the Nisga‚Äôa Culture and speak the Nisga‚Äôa Language an asset;
    • Experience with Accounting processes and budget development;
    • Experience with completing and submitting reports to funding agencies;
    • Proficiency with Microsoft Office programs including data base management;
      • Strong oral and written communication skills with excellent interpersonal abilities;
    • Ability to work well in a team as well as independently;
    • Experience in a non profit or community based organization is an asset.
