SALARY RANGE: $28.57 per hour
SUPERVISOR: Director of Programs and Services or Designate

TERM: ASAP to September 1, 2010
LOCATION: New Aiyansh, British Columbia
JOB SUMMARY: The incumbent is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the Nisga’a Log Home Building Project. He/she will be responsible for engaging 18 participants in Training to Employment Partnership Program to become trained as Industry Training Approved certified log home building workers. The coordinator must be a leader, creative problem solver, be able to meet deadlines and pay attention to details.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Must be familiar with the funding contract, timelines and adhere to reporting obligations in a timely manner;
- Liaison with NLG entities and related external stakeholders;
- Maintain participant files, attendance records assessments and follow-ups when required;
- Provides administrative and financial support;
- Provides progress, financial and statistical reports according to funding contract and NLG policies;
- Supervise the project employment counselor and 18 project participants;
- Coordinates public relations, marketing and outreach functions.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Grade 12 ;
- Completed Post Secondary training in a relevant discipline;
- Experience in trades and technical preferably carpentry;
- Posses a valid class 5 BC Driver’s License
- Be willing to obtain a class 4 BC Driver’s License;
- At least 2 years working/managing/supervising industrial programs;
- Ability to understand the Nisga’a Culture and speak the Nisga’a Language an asset;
- Experience with Accounting processes and budget development;
- Experience with completing and submitting reports to funding agencies;
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office programs including data base management;
- Strong oral and written communication skills with excellent interpersonal abilities;
- Ability to work well in a team as well as independently;
- Experience in a non profit or community based organization is an asset.
