POSITION:          Project Coordinator ‚Äì Labour Market Study

SALARY RANGE:  20.00 per hour

TERM:                Part Time 20 hrs per week-Term to July 2011

LOCATION:         New Aiyansh, British Columbia

 

JOB SUMMARY: the Project Coordinator is the point of contact for the Nisga‚Äôa Sustainable Employment Plan Initiative.  This position requires leadership, motivational skills and an understanding of successfully engaging community members to participate in an employment and labour market study to achieve this objective and at the same time promotes Nisga‚Äôa culture and values at all times. The four Nisga‚Äôa Villages and two Urban Locals will be participating in the project. 

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Main contact and/or liaison for program and works with the Lead Consultant and Programs & Services Directorate and entities involved in this program;
  2. Assist in the facilitation of focus groups and interviews with Nisga’a Citizens in thecommunities;
  3. Maintain participant community files, assessments and follow-ups where required;
  4. Coordinating and scheduling, town-hall style meetings, workshops and facilitators for all consultation sessions in the 4 Nisga’a Villages and two urban locals;
  5. Provide administrative support and services to the Lead Consultant and Project Steering committee;
  6. Ensures progress reports and required reporting documents are submitted to funding agency;
  7. other related tasks or functions

Qualifications:

  • Grade 12 or equivalent;
  • Some Post Secondary Education or training in a relevant discipline (e.g., human services) or equivalent education/training and experience.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills; knowledge of Nisga‚Äôa Language and culture would be an asset;
  • At least two years of experience managing administrative functions;
  • Sensitivity toward Nisga‚Äôa culture;
  • Experience in accounting processes and budget development and monitoring process;
  • Experienced in submitting reports to Boards and/or funding agencies;
  • Proficiency with computers and software including accounting programs, word processing, and data base development and maintenance;
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, strong organizational abilities, strong problem solving skills and high degree of accuracy office management or project management; 
  • Drivers License ‚Äì Class 5 required.
