The Nisga‚Äôa Lisims Government Department of Forest Resources is inviting applications to fill 4-5 seasonal wildland fire fighting positions for the 2013 fire season.  The positions are based in the Nass Valley.  Employment will be between May and September 2013.  These positions are subject to funding availability at the time of employment.

Are you physically fit with a strong interest in the outdoors?

Are you concerned about the protection of the environment?

Are you considering a future in fire control or any in any natural resource sector? 

Are you a leader with a concern for safety?

Basic Qualifications

• Physically fit
• Valid first aid certificate
• Valid driver‚Äôs license

Preferred Qualifications

• Enrolled or returning to a post secondary educational program (proof required)
• Worksafe BC recognized OFA Level 3 (valid through to September 2013)
• Valid BC Forest Safety Council BC Faller Certification
• High level of academic or athletic achievements
• It is the responsibility of the applicants to demonstrate how they have met basic and preferred qualifications

Start dates will be in early May 2013.  Successful candidates should be advised that training may be required prior to May 2013 start of employment.
