Nass Valley residents may notice a helicopter presence within Nisg̱a’a Lands tomorrow - Saturday September 23, 2023.   TC Energy has advised that the purpose of the fly over Nisg̱a’a Lands is to support PRGT’s overview survey to assess marbled murrelet habitat suitability, and to identify raptor nests.

The helicopter does not plan to land on Nisga’a Lands, but will be flying the length of the Project footprint from KP 648 – 675, and KP 718 – 730, up to 200 m out from the footprint.

As the helicopter is likely to be visible by the Villages,  TC Energy has also provided notification to each of the Village Governments.

TC Energy adheres to Section 27.3 of the BC Wildlife Act which prohibits using vehicles to herd or harass wildlife.
