Brucejack promotes Indigenous Peoples Day!

On June 21, 2023 Newcrest Mining Limited hosted an Indigenous Peoples Day 'Celebration Circle' at the Brucejack Mine that was well received.  It was an event by employees for employees. It was an event that included tremendous attendance (over 130+ employees and contractors) and the first event of this nature in the site’s history, which included Nisga’a Citizens and members from each of the Nisga’a villages were in attendance. The goal of the Celebration Circle was to promote the opportunity to learn from each other, celebrate our rich diversity at Brucejack Mine and build and strengthen our relationships with our local communities and Canada's Indigenous Peoples in observance of National Indigenous Peoples Day (June 21).

At Brucejack mine,  a site-based Indigenous Cultural Alliance Committee (Committee) was recently established. At Brucejack they certainly value the relationship and partnership with the Nisga'a Nation.

Nisga'a Lisims Government would like to extend a job well done to Brucejack and Newcrest Mining Limited.  Si'aamhl wilin (Translation: Make it the best work you can do. Make it good, you are doing great).
